PJ Tucker has made a name for himself as the undisputed “Sneaker King” of the NBA. Over the years, PJ Tucker has worn highly coveted sneakers, the Air Ship Pro “Banned”, Nike Fear of God 1 PE and the Air Yeezy 2 “Red October”, just to name a few. Now it looks like Nike is accepting his presence in the sneaker community as his PE is set for a general release.
While general release of PEs among signature athletes are common, it is rare for a player of PJ Tucker’s status to be have a PE released to the public. PJ Tucker is yet to add any notable allocates to his resume as he has been a role player throughout his whole career. It does show the power of social media as PJ Tucker has racked up a huge reputation for himself as the “Sneaker King” allowing him to experience large popularity and media coverage despite his position within the Houston Rockets.
The Kobe 5 Proto PE, which will be released, look more like a Nike By You than a PE as it doesn’t feature special prints or outstanding designs. The upper features grey panels with snakeskin prints on the side and the toe cap. Inner lining is dark purple and the back features a red mesh with a black heel counter. The midsole and the outsole features neutral tones and the shoe is finished off with neon yellow laces.
This pair is set to release on the 25th of September.
