UNDER ARMOUR CURRY 8 LEAKED

Images of the Curry 8 were leaked along with its tech-specs. Initially when the silhouette was leaked, many predicted it would be a lifestyle sneaker due to its minimal knit upper and lack of support on the shoe. However, a leaked spec-sheet confirmed that this is the 8th signature of the 2-time MVP of the Golden State Warriors. With the tagline “The greatest performance improvement in the basketball footwear. Ever.” the Curry 8 looks be a huge jump in technology and performance from its predecessor.

Upper

The whole shoe weighs 9.3 ounces, which is 263 grams and is lighter than 37% of all the signature shoes on the market. To keep the upper lightweight, the upper is a very minimal low-cut silhouette with a knit upper and a standard lacing system. It features a external heel counter to prevent heel slippage and a solid overlay on the side to improve lateral containment.

Midsole

The midsole uses a new midsole foam called “Flow”. While the Curry 7 featured full-length HOVR foam, the Curry 8 will use “Flow” which increases comfort, cushioning and court feel. The traction pattern has been carved out into the midsole. The outsole grooves that curve towards the side of the shoe will increase compression of the foam which allows better impact protection. A carbon plate is also embedded inside the midsole to allow stability of the foot.

Outsole

The Curry 8 doesn’t feature a separate outsole and the traction pattern is carved out on the midsole. UA “Flow” claims to have 22% traction than standard rubber and doesn’t squeak. The outsole pattern features a multi-directional hypnotising pattern.
