The much anticipated Nike’s team shoe, the Air Zoom BB NXT is set to drop on July 2nd. The shoe looks to continue the legacy of the original Nike Zoom BB, which initially released in 2007. Many forget that the Zoom BB was one of the first models to use a technology similar to Zoom Strobel technology featured in the KD 12 and 13. Nike used full length Zoom and did not use any midsole foam such as EVA or Phylon and removed the strobel board and used a cloth instead. This in return gave a great feel for the full-length Zoom unit and adding to the already excellent cushion, a foam pad was put on the heel of the insole.
In the brand new Air Zoom BB NXT, the whole atheistic has been altered. The high-top leather upper has been replaced with a mid-top performance mesh upper. The cushion was been significantly altered as well, instead of the full-length Zoom cushioning, Nike uses a mixture of React foam with Zoom pods in the forefoot. The outsoles consists of a wave like pattern and a space on the forefoot area to allow flexible bending and smoother heel to toe transition.
The “Dangerous” colourway is set to drop initially in China in July 2nd and drop in July 25th in North America.
