AIR JORDAN XXXV SPECULATION

Since the release of the Air Jordan XXXI, Jordan Brand has been following the trend of finding inspiration from the original Air Jordan models, with the XXXI borrowing design from the AJ 1 and the XXXII borrowing from the AJ 2. This trend continued until the AJ XXXIV where there were only subtle elements that signed back to the Air Jordan 4. However, from the leaked photo of the XXXV, the Jordan Brand looks to get back on track to presenting literal design inspirations from the original Air Jordan.

Upper

The most obvious signs of the AJ 5 is found on the tongue. The iconic puffed up tongue with the grooves outlining the Jumpman logo mixed with the style in which the overlays are applied are reminiscent of the original Air Jordan. Other elements that are new in the shoe is the lacing system which goes through nylon cables that wrap the lateral and medial side of the foot and the height of the shoe. While the AJ 5 was a high-top sneaker, the AJ XXXV is sticking to a mid-top.

Midsole Cushion Set-up

The midsole cushion set-up features the Eclipse plate implemented on the Air Jordan XXXIV. The Eclipse plate allows better midfoot to toe transition and allows the Zoom unit in the forefoot to provide more bounce. The AJ XXXIV only had the forefoot Zoom implemented on the Eclipse plate and the heel Hex Zoom unit was caged inside the foam. The AJ XXXV exposes the heel Zoom unit much like the forefoot Zoom unit. This set-up mixed with thicker and larger Zoom units looks to allow better feel for both the forefoot and heel Zoom unit, improving cushioning and more bounce.

Outsole

The outsole pattern is unknown as due to the lack of images showing the outsole.

Price and Release Dates

The AJ XXXIV released on September, however due to the delayed NBA season and COVID pandemic expect a release date later around the end of the year.
