The Zoom G.T. Cut was part of Nike’s “Greater Than” series in which the fundamental movements within a basketball game was taken and improved upon using Nike’s technology. The Zoom G.T. Cut was designed to propel the athlete’s ability to create space within the hardwood. Nike looks to continue the “Greater Than” series with a second iteration of the G.T. Cut with minor improvements.
The upper continues to rock a low-cut design with a knit construction. Pressure points around the shoe have been reinforced with fuse and additional stitching. For increased lockdown, internal lace loops are added around the forefoot. The G.T. Cut 2 also features a larger external heel counter for improved heel containment.
The G.T. Cut 2 will also feature a full-length React drop-in midsole. In terms of the Air Zoom units, it is expected that the G.T. Cut 2 will improve upon the previous set-up. The most likely option is keeping the full-length strobel and heel units, but increasing its volumes.
Images of the outsole are yet to be released.
