NIKE COSMIC UNITY 2

The Cosmic Unity was the first performance shoe to come out of Nike’s Move to Zero initiative. Made with at least 25% recycled materials, the Cosmic Unity was the first step towards “making the world a better place while allowing athletes to perform at a higher level”. Nike looks to continue their push for sustainability within performance shoes as images of the Cosmic Unity 2s were leaked.

Upper

Compared to the first Cosmic Unity which had curvy and smooth lines, the Cosmic Unity 2 features sharper lines throughout the shoe. It is expected that the whole upper is made of recycled yarn like its predecessor. The laces and pull tabs are also most likely to be made out of recycled content.

Midsole

In terms of cushion, the Cosmic Unity 2 is expected to feature a full-length Air Zoom strobel unit. For the container foam, it will not feature Nike Grind like the first model. Instead we can expect the foam itself to be made out of recycled content.

Outsole

The Cosmic Unity 2 features a decoupled outsole with symmetrical patterns. The patterns are similar to those that are seen on the Zoom Freak 3 and Air Zoom BB NXT.
