We can expect a fresh face added to Adidas’s signature athlete team as Trae Young is set to receive his first signature shoe. Entering his sophomore year this season, Trae Young became a first-time All-Star playing for Team Giannis. And he looks to grow as a player as Atlanta Hawks have placed him as the face of the franchise. Adidas also looks to represent him as one of the many faces of the brand along with players like James Harden and Damian Lillard.
Trae Young getting a signature shoe this early isn’t surprising considering Adidas’s history of signature shoes. Donovan Mitchell received his signature shoe in his second year and Derrick Rose and Tracy Mcgrady also received signature shoes after a few seasons coming into the league.
A single rendering of Trae Young’s signature shoe has been leaked so far. The shoe features a low-cut silhouette and design elements similar to the BYW series. Parts of the midsole foam climbs up the lateral side for lateral containment. It is unclear whether Boost, Lightstrike or Bounce will be implemented.
Due to the quality of the image it is difficult to predict the tech on the shoe and there is also the slightest possibility that this is in fact a different basketball model. So, a speculation on the shoes will be done when it is certain that this is Trae Young’s signature shoe and clear images are leaked.
