Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks released his second signature shoe, the Zoom Freak 2 last year. With Giannis winning back-to-back MVPs and receiving the DPOY, Nike looks to expand his brand with a budget signature line, the “Giannis Immortality”.
Like the main signature line, the budget sneaker will utilise a low-cut silhouette. With a high tongue and heel counter, the Giannis Immortality optimises ankle support and mobility. The upper looks to be constructed of two layers with a thin knit covering a thick performance mesh underneath.
The shoe doesn’t feature the typical tech-labelling Nike does on most of their performance shoes. This leads us to suspect that there won’t be any Air Zoom technology used. The back of the midsole seems to be separated into two parts which can mean the shoe can utilise Cushlone or Renew foam underneath the phylon midsole.
The outsole pattern is a simple herringbone pattern with Giannis’ family names detailed around the grooves.
