ADIDAS TRAE YOUNG 1

In just his third season, Trae Young has been able to lead the Atlanta Hawks to their first Playoff appearance since the 16-17 NBA season. And playing against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden, he debuted his first signature shoe, the Trae Young 1.

Upper

The Trae Young 1 is a low-cut sneaker with a single body upper. The upper is relatively minimal compared to the likes of other signature shoes like the Harden Vol.5 and the Dame 7. The lacing system is also minimal with two lace loops placed on each side focusing on midfoot lockdown.

Midsole

The midsole continues to take notes from Adidas’ Feet You Wear technology, a design principle that replicates the natural motion of the foot for better stability. The midsole is made up of two foam technologies sandwiched together. Lightstrike foam is used to construct the majority of the midsole and Boost foam is featured around the heel for additional impact protection.

Outsole

Due to the construction of the midsole, the outsole is divided into separate sections. The forefoot area uses a herringbone pattern and the heel uses a narrow circular pattern.
