The highly anticipated Air Jordan 36 was debuted by Boston Celtics All-Star, Jayson Tatum. Expected to release later this year, the Jordan signature line continues to take inspiration from the original signature line that was worn by Michael Jordan during his playing days.
With the sneaker being the 36th signature shoe of Michael Jordan, it takes inspiration from the Jordan 6. The obvious details that pay tribute to the 6th signature shoes are the sports-car-inspired pull tabs and the panel of material around the tongue. Overall, the Jordan 36 takes the upper design of the 35 and takes out the suede and leather panels to get a simple mesh-based upper.
The Jordan 36 will continue to use an Eclipse plate for cushioning. However, the size of the plate has been significantly reduced compared to the Eclipse plate on the 35, which crept up the side for additional lateral support. What is also noticeable is that the Air Zoom units are no longer exposed and are caged inside the midsole foam container.
Like the last two Jordan models, the Jordan 36 will continue to use an aggressive herringbone traction throughout the outsole.
