The first silhouette of the Air Jordan 37s were unveiled when Jayson Tatum was seen wearing them during pregame warmups of the NBA Playoffs. Recently, additional leaks have revealed the tech-specs and have given us a detailed look at Jordan Brand’s 37th signature shoe.
Upper
The AJ37 continues the tradition of taking cues from the early Air Jordan line Michael Jordan wore during his playing days. The padding around the ankle is inspired by the AJ7’s distinct Huarache design. The exoskeleton reinforcement around the medial and lateral side also bears resemblance to the AJ7’s overlays. The upper layer is constructed of Leno-Weave, a lightweight and durable material.
Midsole
In terms of cushion, the AJ37 moves away from the hollow midsole design it has been boasting for the last 3 models. Instead, it features Jordan Brand’s latest Formula 23 foam on the heel, which is set to be the most sustainable performance foam produced by Nike. On the forefoot, an Air Zoom Strobel unit sits above a double stacked forefoot Air Zoom unit. The midsole will also feature a carbon fibre shank plate for stability.
Outsole
The outsole will feature a pattern directly inspired by the AJ7’s outsole pattern. It will feature a decoupled outsole with multi-directional patterns panelled across the bottom.
