With LeBron James receiving his 20th signature shoe this year, Nike will be introducing another signature line under the LeBron Brand. Set to be the LeBron NxxT Gen, it will be a direct takedown model of the LeBron XX.
Upper
As a takedown model, the NxxT Gen shares the overall silhouette and design of the XX. There are some compromises in terms of materials as the NxxT Gen uses a cheaper mesh material compared to the knit upper of the XX. The lacing system of the NxxT Gen is also simplified, therefore resulting in less lockdown compared to the XX.
Midsole
Sources have suggested that the NxxT Gen will feature heel and forefoot Air Zoom units as well. However, since it is a takedown model, the Air Zoom units will be smaller and thinner. The forefoot unit on the XX, which is a top-loaded Air Zoom Turbo unit, is likely to be replaced with a standard rectangular Air Zoom unit. There will also be the absence of a carbon-fibre shank plate and a Cushlon foam midsole.
Outsole
The outsole also features a somewhat similar, but different pattern to the XX. Whilst the outsole pattern on the XX highlights LeBron’s achievements in the NBA, the NxxT Gen features a map. Perhaps a map of his current city Los Angeles or Cleveland his hometown.
