With Lamelo Ball looking to reach the play-offs for the first time in his career this season, the shoe that he will be wearing for the 22-23 Season has been revealed. The MB.02 will be Lamelo Ball’s second signature shoe with Puma and it looks to build off the massive success of the MB.01.
Upper
The upper retains the mid-cut silhouette of the MB.01. It features a single mesh construction and a separate tongue. Fuse overlays in the form of wings (possible reference to Lamelo’s “1” tattoo) cover the lateral and medial side of the shoe. A separate TPU piece has also been placed on the lateral side for lateral containment. Unlike the MB.01, the MB.02 also features an external heel counter for additional heel containment.
Midsole
Much like the MB.01, the MB.02 is expected to utilise a full-length NITRO foam midsole. NITRO foam is a Puma branded cushioning technology which infuses nitrogen gas into an EVA foam. It is a lightweight and responsive cushioning system. The MB.02’s midsole is unlocked unlike the MB.01, giving room for more compression and impact absorption.
Outsole
The outsole features a mixed herringbone traction with Lamelo’s rocket tattoo integrated into the outsole.
